Great video and description of why and how to set up a profile. You mention during the set up that users can create deep links to their sites.  The links are there but your site adds no follow tags to the links so they don't have much value for SEO.  Is there someplace other than the about section of the profile to add a link?  Did I miss something?

Josef- No, this is not correct. We DO follow links (you are thinking of some other real estate sites that I won't mention...haha). Yes, the links are followed on your profile and on your listings so that you do receive full search engine credit. Sorry Sara, but links in most profiles are nofollowed. The only links I see dofollowed are for real estate professionals who have made a lot of contributions.

Maybe you could let folks know where the threshold is for dofollowed links?

You should clarify that in your video, too: The first time a realtor uses your service, it will not help them with SEO.

Zillow IS a fantastic site and service for realtors. But it is not a good SEO tactic unless they have a serious plan for consistent contribution to the community.

Just as a follow up: I created a profile and added my web site. The code for the link Zillow created is:

The bolded text means the link is nofollowed, and confers no authority or other SEO boost.

Hi Ian,

Yep, this advice regarding the SEO benefits of a Zillow profile applies to RE Pro's only. If you are a RE professional and follow Sara's advice, your profile links will be followed. This is a security feature to protect our site from SPAM profiles (a very real threat.)
