To my pleasure, I opened my Tweet Deck this morning and saw this Tweet from @TeriLussier:

This sparked my curiosity as to what is an "awesomest zillow profile" looks like, so off i went to see Teri's profile. I posted it below, or you can follow the link to Teri's profile.
The first thing you'll notice is that is visually appealing and full of good content. Great, if someone goes directly to her page. But how do people get to this page and cause such a Tweet to be written?
Notice all the rich keywords. What you can't see is that all these links and keywords are "followed", meaning that sites like Google and Yahoo see them and index them. This helps people find Teri when using a search engine. The words you highlight and link matter to Google. So linking "click here" isn't doing you any favors. Not all profiles on all sites are followed. But by doing a search for Theresa Lussier on Google, you can quickly see why this matters.
So make sure when you build a profile on sites that follow links, like Zillow, you are taking that extra few minutes to fill it out completely and insert links and video as it can make a huge difference to Google and your readers.

Sara, you provide great information here. We certainly do not want to miss any opportunities for keywords and links. Thank you.
Oh I gotta get busy to catch up with that!
Great post and BTW Sara your pic is lovely. :)
Sara, this is very helpful info. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, Sara. I didn't know that highlighting text made it count more.
Sara - Woo hoo ! Great post. I definitely need to download Tweetdeck as my twitter account is getting out of control. And having an awesome profile on every social media site makes all the sense in the world. A good reminder to update that Zillow profile !
Good post sara
I'm personally a big fan of adding video to your profile page, as I've done here on my Zillow profile
Sarah that is some great information! Thank you for the advice. I'm just getting started with all of this stuff so I found your article very helpful. If you have anymore tips to help me out send them my way!
Very cool, Congrats on the feature.
Sara, I have really been neglecting Zillow. I need to get back over there and work on my profile. I think I set one up about a year ago.
By the way.....I love your new profile pic. I hope all is well with you.
Sara~ Thank you so much for these tips. I need to implement some of these ideas right away!
Oh, this is way too cool. Thanks. Now, I'll have to update all of my profiles to do this. I wonder what'll happen when I do?
I set up all of my profiles when I was a little less knowledgeable than I am now. Thanks for the reminder that I need to go back and review them.
very good information Sarah.. I will have to go and work on my profiles.
Thanks I have to get the time to join Zillow and start answer questions
I have not done much with Zillow and am probably missing the boat on that one. Great ideas for a good zillow profile- I think I may head over there now.
I seriously didn't knw that by linking to "click here" it wasn't being indexed by the search engines. This is good to know. Thank you
Lots and lots of great tips. I thought my Zillow was terrific, but now I know it's NOT!
Fantastic post. Never thought Zillow would be something I should look in to. Great idea
This is going to make a big difference on how I set up my blog. Thanks!
Hey good post today, thanks for getting it out ther to the AR memers.

That guy with my name at Golin Harris crept into the #2... and the singer in NY got #5... but I got the rest of the page. But I need to work on reshuffling to get the "right" profiles higher up...
THis is good stuff. Sometimes I wonder if it's really worth going the extra mile on the profile... now I know the answer is YES. Thanks for the awesomeness of this post : )
Sara,
Good information. I didn't know Zillow did that.
Nice tips. Always looking for way to maximize our exposure.
Good tips! I try to look at my profile at zillow also.

Thank you. Do you happen to have any suggestions for the awesomest way to add more hours to a day?
Sara, I've been inspired to go fix my profile everywhere!!!
Wow, Terri has a trust-inspiring profile, doesn't she! What a great job. Thanks for pointint it out to us and inspiring us in your post.
Oh gosh.
Okay, so here's the thing: Zillow lets users off its site. You don't hoarde eyeballs. Zillow seems to understand that it's okay to reciprocate the love, because that creates passion for the product. I've heard the whining about Zillow stealing our information, but what I'm hearing from the people who contact me from Zillow is important for us to pay attention to.
Zillow users- potential clients- seem to love Zillow because it's third party information. That is, Zillow isn't R.com- the information there is not exclusively real estate industry created. Clients trust Zillow more than they would trust a big bold "LOOK AT ME!!!" website.
I do see a few opportunities to boost my blog a bit more in that search, and I need to update the Zillow profile information, so thanks for that little kick in the pants, but. like Zillow users want multiple sources of information, clients who google me are also looking for multiple sources of information about me. They tell me they looked at different profiles and links before they ever picked up the phone. Customers have lots of choices these days, and they aren't going to settle.
And since this post will probably begin to show up in searches soon. Thank You, Sara, for the props. :)
Great post, Sara. I've got so much to learn about bloggin, Twittering, Zillowing, etc (not to mention how to get it all to work together) and I'm thankful for all the great advice I've seen in the AR community. Today I plan to work on my new website and try to figure out how to incorporate social networking into it.
I definitely need to get back to Zillow. Thanks for the reminder.
Very nice:) thanks fo rthe great info:) I already love Zillow anyway!
Another, much needed, kick in the pants to update all those profiles out there...! thanks!!
Video...I just haven't gotten on that bandwagon yet, but I definitely see the need. Great post about updating our profiles!
Seems like everyone has been neglecting the Z-site. Me too!
Thanks all for all the great comments! I am so glad to hear many of you are going to go spruce up your profiles now!
