An Interesting Real Estate Tweet - Home Couponing?

Just saw this on twitter from @GoLeanNGreen :

http://10905listidrive.epropertysites.com #realestate #dallas #homes $10,000 off this price if u respond on Twitter by 9/15/10!!!

Interesting use of Twitter.  I wonder if it got the agent results?  Anyone else ever tried anything like this, or short-term discounting in general?

I do this with rentals and it works really well.   Not sure how to apply to sales and get the same results.

I like it.  The promotion has a call to action and a deadline.

Same rules of advertising on newer medium.

What an "out of the box" idea.  Even if it doesn't sell the home...we're talking about it!  Thanks for sharing.

I'll bet it works great for rentals!

Yeah, I bet rentals would be good for something like thing, plus there is more to offer like: no application fee, first month's rent, etc.

I was also thinking of this tweet more from an SEO standpoint, which is something we'll all have to think more about as social media starts making its way into search results.  Even if the agent doesn't get a direct response from the tweet campaign, they may get seo benefit.

I'm not sure about the wave of social media.  Not sure if any of it works.  I think you need to educate those you know on how you are paid and let them be your best lead generation.  Many people think real estate agents receive a regular pay check, just like they do.  When you let them know how we are paid, they never forget to send you business.

I tried twitter and all I got was a lot of followers trying to sell me something.  I don't know of anyone who still uses twitter.  It was a fad that faded.

I love seeing innovative marketing tactics like this.

That is interesting. May have done better as a mobile ad. Mobile ads are staring to be very popular. And they're still cheap.

What a great idea.  Worth a try, if your seller can afford to try a gimmick like this.
