New - Posting To Craigslist Just Got Easier!

Zillow has just launched another free tool for real estate agents to help you gain more exposure for their listings.  Thanks to technology from Postlets, you can now post your for-sale or for-rent listings to Craigslist directly from Zillow.  I don't think anyone needs convincing on how many people are visiting Craigslist every day, so I'll just move right on to explaining how to use this new marketing tool from Zillow!

How to Post to Craigslist From a Listing on Zillow:

1)  First find the property detail page on Zillow.  Under the photos, mouse over the Edit button and select Post To Craigslist.

Post properties from Zillow to Craigslist

2) A screen will appear with the Craigslist code.  If you don't already have a Craigslist posting page open (where you've selected the city and catagory in which you'd like the ad to appear) you can click the Go To Posting Area link provided.  Then simply paste the code generated.

3) Once you go through the Saving process on Craigslist, an ad will be created with all of your property information, links to your photos, and contact information.

And you're done!

You can also find these Craigslist code embed links in the My Listings section of your account page:

I know how much exposure Craigslist offers real estate agents for the properties you represent, so I hope this new functionality helps make the process of getting your properties on Craigslist that much easier!

Sara, you folks are always coming up with neat new stuff for us!  That's really appreciated.  Have you connected with RealBird too?  We love posting our listings with them.

Now you would be a great person to ask?  I've heard some 'experts' talk about the virtues of Craiglist for listings but when I checked out their claims they came up FLAT!  Do you have any real stats on how effect Craigslist has been for home sales.  We carry a fair number of listings and have used it but I don't see any ROI.

Pamela - We do indeed ingest a daily listing feed from Real Bird - so you are good there.

Perhaps this link will help you with Craigslist: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1913283/tips-to-improve-success-with-craigslist-postings It is a white paper that a company called Rent Juice put out.

Thanks Sara, I had seen that post.  Just wondered if there was anything more relevant to home sales.  We've had some activity from Craigslist but mostly inquiries on whether or not the sellers want to 'rent/lease' the home. :)

Thanks again,

This feature is GREAT for posting RENTAL listings from POSTLETS to Craigslist . I prefer to NOT post on Zillow so I remove that from my migration sites.

Hi Sara- this is a great idea! LOVE it. I think it separates the properties listed by agents from the FSBOs very well also. Craigslist is certainly a big draw for renters but I have found that listings on that site do get more traffic and you have given us a great way to showcase them. Suggested.

HI Sara, I'm late for the party but this is good news. I have a Postlets account but this is easier. I'll have my admin start some serious inputting today!

Love the integration with Postlets. I'll need to show this to some of the top listing agents in my office.
