A Little Fun From Coldwell Banker - What's Your Sign?

What's your sign?  No, not your horoscope sign.  Your real estate sign!  That is what Coldwell Banker is hoping to help you discover by taking the HOUSETROLOGY quiz on their website.  In just seven questions you can find out if you are a Urbanist, a Contemporarian or maybe a Ranchero.

Turns out I am a Urbanist.  Who knew?  Well, maybe I did since I live in the heart of Chicago and my neighbor's house is about three feet away from mine....

Take the quiz at http://www.coldwellbanker.com/home/learn/housetrology/housetrology_landing.jsp

PS- Big bonus points to Coldwell Banker for making this quiz an application easily added to a Facebook page!  Great way to attempt to make it viral.

I liked the quiz, I live in the country, but turns out I am an Urbanist too! Must be because I use to live in downtown Chicago years ago, love the city, but it is wonderful here too.

OK, I call BS.  There was not a single thing (except the art... maybe) that pointed to Urbanist in my quiz answers.  But it pegged me as an Urbanist, too.  Seriously, BBQ, picnic, the Desperate Housewives house, seeing nothing but my yard... those point to city living?

I am with Lane.  First off the choices did not really fit "me" but some  how I am

Your highly stylized nature and flair for the exotic leaves you craving open, light-filled spaces, high ceilings and majestic views of nature. You bring the outside in through the use of natural materials. A delicate fusion of interior design and simply streamlined modern detail comprises your dream home. Living that leaves a lasting impression is your goal.

Thanks for the post Sara,

I heard about this coming out when I was w/ Coldwell Banker...I'll have to check it out

Lane/Robert- I guess we can consider this just a fun starting point, something to get you thinking about real estate and possibly moving- but you need to work with a Coldwell Banker agent (ie- a live person) if you want more accurate, customized and personalized information.  :)

Thanks for reading!

I don't think I fit the categories very well either.  It is still a good interactive way of engaging customers.

It turns out I am a Ranchero, but I live in Houston Metro Area... interesting perhaps I need to move in a small city and enjoy enagage inCattle Ranching...

George- Too funny.  I wasn't particularly sure what a Ranchero was (sounds like something on the Taco Bell dollar menu).  But now I know- a cattle rancher outside of Houston, nice!  :)

Hmmm...I came up an urbanist too...too bad no minivan will ever adorn my driveway!

It told me I am an Urbanist too... and I am NOT.

I too received Urbanist. I chose the "Dallas House", and the picnic party - oh and Saturday Night fever. I think picking the coffee around the corner was what gave me the title. I could be an Urbanists. I could live in a huge loft in the middle of downtown as long as I could walk to some kind of water - oh or live on a houseboat - how cool!

OK I chose Cinderella, the Desperate Housewives house, Sunday brunch and the view of a white picket fence and it said I was an Urbanist. Then I chose exactly the same choices but I chose a different artist... really my favorite of the choices but NOT something I would hang in my house and it said I am a Contemporarian...

Real Living has had a quiz for years but it is with decorating... they need to get it viral by adding the Facebook application.

turns out I'm an urbanist also. In reality, I'd like to have several houses in different locations to satisfy many aspectsof my personaity. Thanks for the quiz. it was fun.

I'm an Urbanist too. Must be a broad classification -- my choices were Jackson Pollock, BBQ, hiking and picnic. Also noticed the link to add the app to our Facebook pages. Interesting to see a real estate site being progressive with social networking.

Posted by John Novak - Las Vegas and Henderson NV Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace) about 1 year ago

My choices were BBQ, working in a garden, seeing trees outside my window, desperate housewives and I am an urbanist too.

I do like the idea of high rise living, it's kind of sexy.

I like my backyard and own space even more though.  I have 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats and a macho mini van (SUV) and wouldn't have it any other way!  I have NEVER lived in the city, always the burbs!  Oh wait, I take that back.  I did live in the city for 9 months after I got married.  Must have been my art selection.  They didn't have anything close to what I would pick which would be impressionistic oils.

:)

Well that was fun--turns out I'm a Contemporian.  Sort of surprised me.

I'm with Lane on this - bbq, Desperate housewives, potluck and picket fences and I'm an Urbanist, though I must say it pegged my husband pretty well as ranchero.

I am a Ranchero...  What I really want is 40 acres backed up to Forest Service property, with a really good Sushi place across the street and great internet access....

Interesting idea...now all i have to do is come up with a little quiz for my site....

Posted by Michael Sahlman e-PRO - Miami Beach Florida Luxury Homes (www.HomesForVIPs.com - Keller Williams Realty) about 1 year ago

Now that I took the quiz, I am an urbanist, however, there choices were not very appealing, but it was interesting. Makes me want to go to the country!

Posted by Michael Sahlman e-PRO - Miami Beach Florida Luxury Homes (www.HomesForVIPs.com - Keller Williams Realty) about 1 year ago

I'm with Lane too. I picked the same BBQ, picnic, the Desperate Housewives house, and picket fence along with the impressionist painting. I think it's a very neat idea but maybe has a few glitches to work out or to add some more categories.

It was fun to take a real estate related quiz for a change though!

I am a Ranchero.  Must a been the Georgia O painting and the pot luck.  Or the flea market.  It was right.

Me an urbanist?  Hmmmm.  I think the golden retriever is dyslexic on this one, sorry! Must have been the quiche.  (LOL) But what fun this was.  Pretty cool, wrong, but cool nonetheless.

This reminds me of my friend's site that helps you find out what kind of car you'd be. Must be a new wave in online marketing -- grabs the reader and gets them to start filling in forms. Slick.

Posted by Dean Rock (Coldwell Banker) about 1 year ago

I did it - fun...I am an Urbanist. Interesting. I would have guessed otherwise.
