Unbelievely Bad Realtor Photos - A Collection

I got a kick out of this collage of bad Realtor photos that Norm Fisher from Royal LePage Saskatoon put together on his website.  Make sure you have your volume on, his comments are what really made me chuckle.

http://www.visualtour.com/applets/flashviewer/viewer.asp?t=830679&sk=46&dm=teamfisher.com

He is right about how it is sad that home owners let their home be showcased in this way.  Doesn't seem like he had a shortage of photos to chose from.

Actually, what a great way for Norm to market his visual tour services.

Sara, that was awesome!  I have a couple posts of bad listing photos and never thought of making them into a show!!  Now I have some work to do .... Thanks!

Sarah,

Unbelievable. Sad but true - we've all seen those pics. However - what a neat way of setting yourself apart from others..."he's still the only agent in the area to use Visual tours"...and that's AFTER his potential clients just watched what CAN go wrong...wow.

Great site, thanks for sharing.  This just goes to prove my point, either take a class to use the camera properly or hire a professional photographer!

Sara, What a hoot! He's too funny, I'm still chuckling! Thanks for posting the link, I'm going to have to share it.

His dry monotone voice is what really makes it funny. Great stuff.

Those are funny but unfortunately too often true. Oh wait wasn't that one of my property pictures? j/k That is why I hire professionals to do my photos and tours. Worth the price and prevents the embarrassment!

That was funny.

I am amazed daily at how poorly most photos look.  It doesn't take an expert photographer to take a half way decent photo.

Thanks for a great giggle this afternoon!   And a great reminder to give more consideration to the photos that are posted in the MLS and on the web!

Ok, that was funny.  I have been guilty of getting home and hating a few photos myself from time to time.  I like the photo of Fluffy's view the best.  Excellent use of a tour product.

That link was hysterical. I just saw some dumb pics last night that were posted on MLS.

If you can't get a good picture, don't bother.

The only thing funnier than this virtual tour would be comparing the picture of the realtor on his/her business card to the actual realtor.  I recently had a closing with an agent who had her picture plastered everywhere - sings, business card, in house display, car, moving van, etc.  When I actually met her at the closing table I was stunned - the picture and the agent did not even look like they came from the same gene pool.  Her picture showed a different style and hair color, 2 less chins than she currently has, 40+ pound less, etc.  I sat there stunned!

Funny but very sad.  The goal is always to take attractive pictures that will make buyers want to schedule a time to actually see the property, not scare them off.  Less pictures I think is much better than an assortment of really really awful ones.  If you can't get good pictures, ask a colleague to help or hire a professional.

Too funny - I'm always amazed by the photos I come across on the mls everyday.  Always ask myself - what was the agent thinking? What surprises me even more is that sellers don't demand more of their agents and make them re-shoot the pictures.

Great way to remind myself to take appropriate pictures, and to remember, HELLO! Agents and prospective buyers are looking at these! Awesome Link- his comments were too funny~

What a hoot. Glad to know that Southern California agents don't have the edge on taking crummy photos. Thanks for passing this along.

That was awesome!  I need to do one myself on bad photos from around here!  Just today one came up of the fence....nothing else was in the pics but the fence and side of house...Wow!!!  I think I'll buy that house!!!

That was a very funny video. However, in our market our MLS issues fines for using other agent's photos. It's considered plagiarism. So we wouldn't be able to do such a funny video - even though we might like to.

Funny stuff, thanks for the laugh!  I always tell our new agents that the pictures are the invitation to the party- don't give them the wrong directions.

UPDATE- Karma is a b****.  So about a week after I wrote this post where agents were made fun of for taking bad photos, I was the victim.  After writing this post I hired a full service agent to list one of my investment properties.  The photos were TERRIBLE.  Newspapers on the kitchen counter, waterfront view taken on a cloudy day, a toy gun in one of the pictures that looked real (past tenants)!  Obviously I asked him to change all of these photos out, as I know how important good photos are- and he wouldn't!  Two weeks of begging him to change the photos and he got fired.

Maybe homeowners don't think they have a choice or options after bad photos like these are taken?  It was very painful to go through those two weeks with that realtor.  Someone new to the real estate process or not as aggressive probably would have just let it go, as that would have been much easier.  I guess that is how these pictures make their way online?

That was so funny and the sad thing is i have done some of those when i was in a hurry. Better stop and spend more time preparing.
