On individual profiles which can be set up on Zillow for free, there is an area to include your "Specialties". This not only helps advertise your services, but also creates keywords to help people find you in searches within the Zillow Professional Directory.
Last week an email was sent out asking Professionals to please try to limit the number of specialties to about four. I received a number of emails asking exactly how to do this, so I wanted to address that here:
Log onto your account. Go to your Profile page and click the Edit button next to your first and last name.

Scroll down the page. Under Professional Information, you can either check/un-check the appropriate box(es) of your choice. Once done, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Hopefully this helps with any confusion this email may have caused!

Sara- That is a great tip for people to know. I have never been a supporter of Zillow although I do syndicate our listings there as if it is necessary evil.:) Katerina
I will have to head over there and see if I actually have any specialties:)
Thanks for the reminder, I have to update all of my social networking profiles...
I've already updated mine, I wouldn't want Zillow to erase them for non compliance as stated in the email.
Hi Sara, Thanks for the scoop. It's time to make sure all of our profiles are updated.
I hear you about updating all social media profiles. The other day I happen to look at my LinkedIn profile and couldn't believe how out dated it was.
Thanks Sara. I need to get on the Zillow boat and edit my profile!
Sara, that's welcome information. Although I sometimes use Zillow's input I never thought about creating a profile there.
Zillow is one I haven't used much either. I might have to rethink this. What the heck it's free.
